Cyber Advisory: UK businesses urged to review cyber security following middle east conflict

In light of evolving geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has advised businesses to reassess their cyber security posture and be vigilant against heightened cyber threats.

While there is currently no confirmed significant increase in direct attacks against the UK, indirect or opportunistic threats, especially towards organisations with regional ties, supply chains or digital exposure remain a concern.

• Geopolitical instability increases the likelihood of hacktivist activity and opportunistic targeting by state-linked actors.

✔ Harden key assets including identity systems, email infrastructure and perimeter defences
✔ Implement proven frameworks and standards such as Cyber Essentials
